Launched a year ago on June 2016, I still remember when this car was display for the first day at the Proton showroom, I was attracted by how it looks on my first sight, went to view this car the second day of launching and immediately shocked knowing that it is sharing almost the whole car with 2008-2012 Honda Accord except its exterior and a slight improvement in the interior, cannot deny that the exterior looks much modern compared to how it originally look by Honda back in 2008. Without its batches, not much would even know that it is the new Perdana because its so rare, much more rare than any super expensive car in the market now. Why is it so rare on the road? the question that easily be answered by another question, who will willing to spend RM138888 on a car that was designed 9 years back?. No doubt price range below 140k is really cheap for a car this size, a proper D segment car that cruise like ship on the highway, this car does look the biggest among the camry, accord and the teana. But then, it's always competitive when it comes to the current market when a proper Japanese car like the latest top spec turbocharged Honda Civic cost around RM131k, and Honda CRV 2.0 2wd cost RM139k, yes it is quite unreasonable to compare a D segment car to a C segment car, but it just gets too competitive out there. Not forgetting the first generation Perdana, back to the nineties when Perdana was based on the Mitsubishi Eterna, it does sell well here by whatever reason that i don't really know, maybe because it was cheaper after the re-badge and the technology gap between Perdana and other D segment car in the market was not that far different. It's now 2017 and Proton should have really gone much better than this, this is the first time i tested this car one year after it launched, I can just say that it drives just like a Honda, a little bit of under-power (I tested the 2.4) maybe because the body is heavier and bigger, no doubt it really is a very nice car with great driving pleasure, hand to the wheel connection as this is conventional "Rack&Pinion" hydraulic powered steering (not the new EPS system), always proud of how it looks, Proton really does an amazing work on that, but Proton should really go furthe, just further than this, its 2017, its hard to get people buying a RM140k D segment car without keyless entry anymore. For someone who don't really obsess or care about all the fancy features in current models of cars, honestly this is really a very nice D segment car to drive with fairly enough amount of technologies at this new car price range of below Rm140k. Double thumbs up for its leather of the interior (synthetic leather), have sat in Lexus Rx350, BMW F30, W213 E class, W222 S class, and yet to me this is the good kind or can be the best leather seat I have ever sat on, so soft and breathable
